Amber Thomas

Amber ThomasAmber Nicole Thomas is a recent graduate of Jackson State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She is a native of Jackson, Mississippi where she was born to Alex and Doris Thomas. She attended Murrah High School, where she was student body president. Later she was accepted into the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors College at JSU. She was the Digital Media Strategist and a Regional Organizer for Obama for America Mississippi in 2010. She was also the Assistant Digital Media Lead for the Johnny Dupree for Governor Campaign in 2011. She is a former Hilliard P. Jenkins Summer Fellow for Frontline Solutions, and recently served as political director for the Kasim Reed for Mayor Campaign in Atlanta, GA. She also consults as a Special Projects Coordinator for One Voice, Inc. and is a volunteer Civic Engagement Organizer for the MS State Conference NAACP.

Amber is currently the Field Director/Campaign Coordinator for Better Schools Better Jobs, Inc. She enjoys community organizing, video production and creative writing. She is also a lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she was initiated into the Gamma Rho Chapter and served as president. She is a member of the Beta Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha in Jackson, MS. Her life goal is to carry out God’s will and to be an agent of social change for all mankind.
